Map update won’t stop your BMW warranty as we collect files directly from BMW database, therefore the codes are all the same as a dealership.
With the Lifetime FSC you would need just the Map Data going forwards and nothing else. Once purchased and used, it will allow you map updates unlimited times. Lifetime FSC: Once you enter a lifetime code in your car, you will never need to enter another code again. Any future map updates will require the FSC code again. One Time FSC: This code cost less as you can use it only once. What is an FSC Code? To update the navigation system in your BMW, you will need a special 20 digit code called the FSC code, the FSC code (registration key) is tied to your vehicle’s VIN number. We currently offer the latest 2021 Western Europe and Eastern Europe Maps for download or via post. What BMW Car’s can be updated? This will work on all BMW’s worldwide with CIC or NBT Navigation systems (built between 2008 - 2016), based on your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) we will send you the appropriate updated map version and FSC Release code. If it's more than a year old, it's time to update. You will see the region, map version and year of your current map. To check the map version in your BMW, go to your iDrive navigation view, open the settings menu and scroll down to Navigation system version. If you're in an unfamiliar area and want to stop off for a bite to eat, having the latest maps on your iDrive will make it easier to use the interactive map to find out what options you have around you. What's more, over 300,000 points of interest are added to the maps each year, including restaurants, gas stations and attractions. Earlier map versions can include mistakes (even Google Maps has a few streets that exist in principle, but in reality are just empty fields), and each subsequent map version is going to iron out more of these issues. Approximately 142,000 miles of new roads are added every year, so updating your maps means your navigation system is going to work a lot better. The last thing you want your navigation system to do is send you down a street that hasn't existed for five years, or let you spend an hour weaving through an unfamiliar town when there's a shiny new bypass that could cut your journey time in half. In some areas, up to 40% of the road network can change from one year to the next. New roads are being built, old roads are being closed or rerouted, two-way streets are being turned into one-way streets. Why update your navigation maps?
